Carolina Tytelman is a PhD candidate in the Department of Anthropology at Memorial University of Newfoundland. The focus of her doctoral research is on the analysis of the relationship between Aboriginal peoples and the state through the management of natural resources.

Her research centres on the Forest Management Committee, a co-management institution established between the Innu Nation and the provincial government in 2003 that has co-management responsibility for a 2.1 million hectare of Labrador forest area.
